Certification as young as 10 years old
SpoLang German Students are able to receive
HIGH SCHOOL and COLLEGE CREDITS!
SpoLang’s German Program is the first and only program in Spokane and surrounding area, offering the Common European Framework Reference (CEFR) German Youth Certifications for students ages 10 and up.
The CEFR is a guideline used to assess achievements of learners of German across Europe, in other countries, and in the U.S. Six reference levels are the European standard for grading an individual’s language proficiency. This makes it easy for educational institutions and employers to compare qualifications.
U.S. Schools recognize the CEFR. Students are able to earn High School and College language credit requirements.
Germany abolished tuition fees for students at all German Public Universities. This means that currently both domestic and international* students can study for free, with just a small fee to cover administration and other costs per semester.
*International Students will need to pass Language Level B2 or C1, depending on each German States’ requirement, to attend for free.
SpoLang’s Programs are the first programs in Spokane to prepare students for the High School World Language Competency-Based Credit (CBC) Assessment.
Students are able to earn 1 – 4 High School World Language credits. These credits help meet High School graduation and College admissions requirements.

Spokane Scholars Award in World Languages Student Photo Gallery
The Spokane Scholars Foundation is dedicated to recognizing the exceptional academic achievement of high school seniors from the Spokane area.
In 2016 there was a total of $60,000 awarded to 24 of the 143 Spokane Scholars.
Fourteen institutions of higher education in the region will match the monetary grant awards of $1,000 to $4,000.
